“Hurry! Alexzai-sama needs our help!”
“Hold it! This battle's between Roshiel-sama, and the
Seraquin. Interfere and we will be forced to kill you.”
“Listen, you-!”
“No. Calm down.”
“But, Xyver-sama-”
“No. Trust Alexzai-sama. That is enough.”
“. . . .”

~
Alexzaiiiiiiiiii!” Roshiel roared, charging at the slimmer, paler, brown haired angel before him, his sword raised high.
Alexzai leaped out of the way and threw bright orange spheres of immobilizing magic at the red/orange/gold haired angel.
“You can still stop this, Roshiel! Lay down your sword and I'll cast off my magic, and we'll return to Sanctuary! Together, like it should be!” Alexzai snarled fiercely, despite the broken-hearted gleam of pain in his one-of-a-kind blue eyes.
“To what?! Be tried and then executed for my so-called 'crimes'?! I already answered you, Alexzai! Never!” Roshiel hissed back, lifting his sword to slash through the glowing orbs of magic without hesitation.
Alexzai's unique blue eyes narrowed, “Let's end this, Roshiel. . . .” he growled from deep in his chest.
“How are you going to manage that? You don't and never will have the strength to cast a killing spell! You're the Seraquin, the Master Healer! You never trained in offensive magic!” Roshiel mocked, extending his wings out to full length.
“Don't. Underestimate. Me. Roshiel!” Alexzai spat out, as if each word had to be ripped from deep inside him, and his blue eyes held a tortured gleam.
Roshiel's sadistic smile widened and remained firmly in place.
Until he felt it.
Something broke inside Alexzai, and instantly, an absolutely massive amount of strength surged through the slim brown-haired angel, surrounding him in a flaming dark blue aura.
“What is . . . ?” Roshiel murmured, as he felt the sheer size of the power that now filled Alexzai.
It rivaled his own, if not overcame it.
I, will not, let you hurt anyone else, Roshiel!” Alexzai screamed, his voice shrill, as he began to focus his strength.
Roshiel saw what he was doing.
! He's casting a spell that will annihilate me!' he hissed in his head.
Then, he looked again at the surging mass of power gathering at Alexzai's fingertips.
'Wait . . . . No!' “Alexzai! What are you doing?! That spell is going to kill us both!” Roshiel yelled, his voice laced with disbelief and horror.
Alexzai looked back up at Roshiel; there were tears streaming down his cheeks.
“I'm doing this because . . . ! Because, I-! . . . Because I'd rather die with you, than live without you! I love you, Roshiel!” he cried, heartbreak so clear in his voice, preparing to launch all the energy from his body at Roshiel.
Roshiel shook his head fiercely, “No! I won't let you throw your life away! I didn't save you all those times to have you give it all up now! You were my lover, Alexzai! I won't let you kill yourself to stop me!” he snarled, gathering his power as well, in an attempt to counter Alexzai's similar attack.
The watching angels gathered by the entrance to the Grand Hall of Archangel Palace, all shuddered and  felt their breath leave them because of the awesome magnitude of the amount of power contained within the room.
Both angels had been powerful to begin with, but now, they both poured every ounce of strength from their bodies into this last attack, meaning, once they fired, they would have nothing left.
“It's now or never, Roshiel!” Alexzai screamed over the roar of surging power, power that threatened to break free at any second.
Roshiel lifted his boulder sized sphere of glowing red energy above his head, as opposed to Alexzai's blue sphere.
“I won't let you throw your life away so needlessly!” he shrieked back, trembling with the effort of keeping his own power in check.
Alexzai let out an inhuman screech and released his power.
The beam was about five feet in diameter, and blasted towards Roshiel at full force.
Not even a second after that, Roshiel released his scarlet red power, and the two beams collided, in the exact center of the space between the two battling angels, sending a huge shock-wave through the air, throwing all the spectators to the ground.
Then, something unexpected happened.
Lightning burned from where the two opposing powers met, and a larger sphere of pure white energy formed, swallowing both beams particle by particle.
The sphere expanded, consuming everything it touched.
“Alexzai-sama!”
“Roshiel-sama!” came each of the angels' names, from both parties of their followers, as the white globe engulfed the two angels.
Two screams of pain and fury tore through the air above the cracking of lighting and the roar of growing power.
“Run!” one angel cried, and all of them did not hesitate to flee, wither by flying or casting a spell.
Not ten seconds later, the globe imploded, and then exploded outwards, taking most of Archangel Palace along with it . . . .
~
The blast had been caused by the forced combination of two such powerful, opposing forces.
It left dozens dead, and hundreds injured by flying rubble and magical discharge.
It was three days later that searchers went back to the Grand Hall, or what was left of it, in search of their leaders remains, for there was very little hope that either of them survived the terrible blast, being in the center of it all.
What they found, changed the destiny of everything in existence.
Both leaders had survived.
In a way.
Archangel Roshiel was found first, contained, sleeping, in an impenetrable blue glass orb filled with what looked like water.
Around the circumference of the orb was a thick ring of solid gold, just as unbreakable as the cobalt blue glass.
On the ring were carved runes that translated into, 'The Soul is the Key. It must find Refuge from the Storm if this prisoner is to be freed.'
Roshiel's followers were baffled as to it's meaning.
Alexzai's followers were distraught when they found their leader.
Alexzai's body was unharmed.
But was utterly lifeless.
The force of the power had ripped his soul from his body, and now it was lost somewhere in the human world, where almost no angelic magic worked.
Roshiel's blue glass prison proved to be as immovable as it was unbreakable, despite the thousands of attempts to free the flame haired  angel.
Alexzai's followers took their leaders body and encased it in transparent violet crystal, called Celestite, which halted the time flow around the body.
The two groups continue to fight today, to protect their own leader, or to capture the others.
They anxiously await the revival of both, for it was promised that both would arise and live to battle again.
Nearly two thousand years have passed since the Cataclysm, and still, Alexzai's soul wanders the mundane plains of the human world, and Roshiel still sleeps undisturbed in his glass prison.
Now, begins the true tale of the god-cursed pair, Archangel Roshiel, and Seraquin Alexzai . . . .
